Climate change action plan

Kenya’s Climate Change Act, 2016 provides a framework within the state Department for Public Works for action that promotes low carbon, climate resilient development practices within the construction industry. It further aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are projected to increase because of population and economic development such as building and construction. Actions to decrease climate change threat are expected to reduce Green House Gasses (GHG) emissions by 30% by 2030. Building and construction sector have large potential in reducing greenhouse gas emissions because building material, technologies and processes have unprecedented carbon footprint.
